Buddy for Healthcare

Get started in Microsoft Teams

This page helps users and administrators install, open, and configure Buddy for Healthcare. No separate Buddy account is required.

For users

Use Buddy directly from the personal app in Microsoft Teams.

  1. 1Open Microsoft Teams and go to Apps.
  2. 2Search for Buddy for Healthcare.
  3. 3Add the app to your personal Teams environment.
  4. 4Open the chat and ask a question about available protocols or work instructions.
  5. 5Use source references and the View protocol button to check the underlying information.

For administrators

Make Buddy available and manage organization settings.

  1. 1Open the Microsoft Teams admin center.
  2. 2Check whether Buddy for Healthcare is allowed for the organization or the right user group.
  3. 3Install or publish the app according to your organization app policy.
  4. 4Open the Settings tab in the Buddy app.
  5. 5Configure admin options such as message retention when they are available for your account.

Important to know

Users do not need a separate Buddy account.
The organization must allow and make the app available in Microsoft Teams.
Admin settings are only visible to accounts with sufficient Microsoft Teams administration permissions.
Answers are based on the connected protocols and documents of the organization.

Troubleshooting

  • No admin settings visible? Check whether you have Microsoft Teams administration permissions.
  • No answer from Buddy? Check whether the app is allowed by the organization and reopen it in Microsoft Teams.
  • Missing protocols? Contact us so the document source for your organization can be checked.
